The Green-eyed monster called “Mother”

The week leading to Father’s Day was utterly stressful for me as I did paper works on everything related to securing visas for two countries we are living in and traveling to. I swear I can put up my own travel agency because I memorize all the requirements by heart. I know exactly what page 2 of Visa Application for X Country looks like, and I can probably fill it out with eyes closed. I haven’t tried that though.

On Friday, I was finally done filling out forms and printing documents and all I needed to do was to wait for our schedules. So I told Jeff we should decompress and go to the zoo and the park.

The place was peaceful. Very few families were out with their children that day and somehow, I felt that we can really take thing slow. But it was miserably humid. I wanted to shout: “Who turned on the heater?” I knew I would get sick from that adventure (and I did! Fever, baby, burning hot!).

But the kids enjoyed it! Nicholas even found his first girlfriend, and my son broke my heart for the first time. I know now what my Mom meant when she said that no woman/girl/lady would ever feel “right” for any of my brothers. Mothers do claim that they are their sons’ first love. It’s too early for me to get jealous but come on, I carried this boy for 36 weeks (with his equally cute twin sister) and I cannot just give him away that easy. I actually cried one night when I told Jeff that I can’t bear the thought of Nick – 16 years old in the future – bringing his girlfriend during family dinner. But let’s backtrack a bit and let me give you the girl that Nick met at the zoo:

Can you see him blushing? And that look in his eyes?!!!

And all of a sudden, he is meeting the parents. The girl’s father was busy taking their first photo together. Aargh!

The little lady was still following Nick even after we said “goodbye!” Girls, these days!

Super glad to be rid of her when we got home. Hehehe.

The following day, we were out attending a social activity with Jeff’s church members and look what the two did while the older kids did the chicken dance:

And here’s Toni trying to do it!

Leaving soon for a 12-day vacation in Hong Kong and the Philippines. I can’t wait to be with my Mom, my siblings and my fellow Basadours! Here’s a collage of the screenshots from the video I took yesterday (June 15) of Nick and Toni. You can view the video here.
