Sm Cinema’s Kids Watch for Free

The news reached me after the twins, Nicholas and Antoinette, and I watched “The Incredibles 2” on a Thursday evening.

Starting June 21 until December 2018, SM Cinema is treating children four feet and below (so that’s about five years old and below) to free animated movies!

How does that work?

Here goes…

Your child gets a complimentary movie pass for every movie ticket you purchase.

Let’s make that clear: for every paying adult, a child (standing four feet and below) gets a free movie pass.

Why am I excited about this?

Because we have three children at home and there are three adults too. When we watch at SM Consolacion, which is basically our neighborhood mall, we usually pay for six people for every animated movie we watch. Case in point: when we watched The Incredibles 2 last June 14. Six full price tickets for three adults and three children.

With SM Cinema’s new program, Kids Watch for Free, this expense is cut in half. Big savings for family fun, right?

With this offering, SM Cinema has solidified its presencr in the market as a family-oriented “destination.”

We love movies in our family and since we do not have television at home, going to the movies is an absolute treat for our children. My husband, Jeff, reviews movies and he has somehow passed on the love for the big screen to the children.

Maria Anicia “Miss Annie” P. Naval, senior vice president for cinema and exhibition of SM Cinema, says they acknowledge that going to the movies is one way for parents and children to bond with each other. By having this program, Miss Annie says parents and guardians are given the chance to watch animated movies with their children at half the cost.

So what are these animated movies and what dates are they going to be shown so you can take the entire clan to any SM Cinema near you?

* The Incredibles 2 (June 21-27)
* Richard the Stork (July 25-31)
* Teen Titans and Christopher Robin (August 8-15)
* Wheely (September 12-18)
* Small Foot (October 3-9)
* The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (November 7-13)
* Luis and the Aliens (November 7-13)
* Marine’s World 3D (November 14-20)
* Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck it Ralph 2 (November 28-December 4)

Jeff and Nick went to the movies last week to watch “The Incredibles 2” for the third time. Jeff paid for two people but the cinema staff told him our four-year-old Nick can watch the movie for free. In the words of my husband, who is film buff and cinema loyalist, “What a treat!”

And this program is not only limited to regular cinemas, it is also available on IMAX and Director’s Club!

Pretty exciting development in our side of the planet!

Tickets can be booked at www.smcinema.com. You can also download the SM Cinema mobile app.

See you at SM Cinemas!

P.S. We cannot wait for the special screening of Antman and the Wasp on July 1. It is the twins’ fifth birthday so we are off to a movie treat!
