Princess Power

This girl.

Where do I even begin?

I brought her to the Princess Power event at SM City Cebu where she had a blast with her twin brother, who volunteered to be her “bodyguard” because, in Nicholas’ words, “every princess needs a bodyguard.”

So off we went.

I have been feeling under the weather but I promised Toni I’ll bring her to SM to buy princess dress, tiara, the works as a reward for making it as one of the top pupils of her class.

What an amazing experience for every girl! The makeup, the sparkles on the face, the hair, the photo booth, the wand, the ramp experience.

We didn’t really get to experience the ramp. We were there for only an hour because I couldn’t breathe anymore. I’ll spare you drama of this part. I can talk more about my medical challenges in person.

Long story short, we finally got home and this girl told her baby brother about what an exciting day she had but that she needs to help with the household chores because Mom is sick.

My six-year-old got the medicine kit, brought out the medicines for asthma, migraine, flu, and efficascent oil. She told me to drink my medicines and lay down because she will give me a massage.

I started crying because all my life it was always me taking care of people. When Jeff came into my life, that changed a lot. And now, I have a daughter who is taking care of me.

I have been very sick and in the last two nights, Toni has been sleeping beside me. More like on mat spread on the floor just below me.

She literally wakes up when I moan from all the pain. When I needed water, she gets up. When it’s to hard to breathe, she knows what to do. She gives me really good massage because my brother trained her how to go about it.

Someone once told me that princesses are spoiled girls. But I have one who isn’t. This princess knows how to cook, clean, wash dishes.

She takes care of her Mama when Mama is sick.

And everyday, even on nights when I come home really late, as I kiss her good night before retiring to my own room, she would always ask, “How’s your day?”

We have a princess in our house.

A real, genuine, sincere one.

Her name is… Antoinette.
