June beckons

Today marks one month since we left Guangzhou.

Getting here was a whirlwind, roller-coaster ride.

Really, it was a crazy adventure. I dare not go into the details because I will only bore you and you might not believe my version of the story anyway.

Suffice it is to say that the month of June is a month (as we are still on the 20th) of rediscovering the joy of baking, thinking of ways to maximize my time indoors, enjoying time outdoors, and spending time with the children (although it’s making me crazy from time to time).

We are currently living in a place where this is a big space for the kids to roam around, play with the dogs, and pick pine cones. This is, so far, the safest places that we have lived in and I love seeing the twins going dirty as they play with soil and twigs. It sure is a lot of work afterwards (in cleaning them up and that entails doing more than three loads of laundry everyday) but these are the times that I will cherish forever. Children grow up so fast. I just gave birth to them in July 2013 and now they’re almost two years old. They’re turning two in 11 days!

We are still settling down here but the twins are showing healthy signs that they are adjusting well. They’ve been playing with the dogs, eating food using their utensils, enjoying the outdoors, and viewing Disney movies and nursery rhymes with much gusto.

Eating with their utensils now. Messy but has to be done for them to be independent,

There is so much to look forward to in the coming months. My pregnant belly is growing bigger and bigger by the day; not as heavy as the twin pregnancy two years ago but managing this baby bump and twin toddlers is not a walk in the park. But I live in a home filled with love, a husband who is more than amazing, supportive family members (my brother-in-law Joe and his wife Sheryl, and my family in the Philippines who help me take care of my house and paper matters there), new dog friends, a Filipino food store (!!!), and a new computer with a wonderful keyboard.

There is so much to be thankful about.

My heart is full of gratitude.
